Qualifications of Staff Nurses-Nursing Home:
- Must have current Connecticut RN license
- Must have prior experience as a Registered Nurse
- Must have experience in long-term care
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must have management experience
Requirements of Staff Nurses-Nursing Home:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Consult with doctors and other healthcare professionals to decide on the best treatment plans.
- Be in strong physical condition, as they may often stand or move around throughout their shifts.
- Ability to work as a team member with the nurses and nurse aides. Understanding of the behavior and needs of elderly people. Ability to communicate effectively to the residents, families, visitors and staff. Accuracy in documentation is essential.
- Follow extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
- Administer patients' medicines and treatments.
- Set up plans for patients' care or contribute information to existing plans.
