Description
American Plastics, LLC, a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household, garage storage and commercial cleaning, is looking for a Production Supervisor.
This is a nightshift role working: 7pm-7am (12/HR -2-2-3 schedule)
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, schedule and assign 20 – 30 employees
- Identify areas for improvement for safety, production, onboarding and train
- Work with Plant Manager, Production Manager and Maintenance to improve downtime
- Participate on continuous improvement teams for cycle time & scrap reduction
- Assist with production for startup, shut down
- Assist corrective action teams for root cause analysis and permanent corrective action procedures
- Training and onboarding new hires to make sure they understand their roles and expectations
- Work with Human Resources to identify top performers, complete evaluations for promotions, and identify coaching opportunities
- Analyze and develop workstation layouts for labor optimization
- Other duties as assigned by Management
Expectations:
- Run a safe, clean operation which promotes zero accidents
- Meet production and delivery schedules
- Positive attitude, good communication and people skills
- Great attendance and punctuality are a must
- Ability to work with and discipline employees when necessary
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in supervision, (plant supervision a plus)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• May participate in housekeeping, 5S, and/or in Lean activities
• Adhere to all safety procedures
• Excellent analytical & problem solving skills
