American Energy Storage Innovations, Inc. has a full-time opening for a Staff Mechanical Designer Engineer in Bengaluru, India.

Job Summary:

The Staff Mechanical Design Engineer, India is responsible for designing and optimizing mechanical systems, with a particular emphasis on thermal management, thermal and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis. This individual is involved in developing innovative and efficient thermal solutions for battery systems and experience in battery design work is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, with a strong focus on thermal management and CFD analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define mechanical specifications for battery systems.
  • Perform thermal and CFD simulations to evaluate and optimize thermal performance, airflow, and heat dissipation of battery systems.
  • Design and select appropriate cooling solutions, including heat sinks, thermal interface materials, and cooling fans.
  • Conduct mechanical design and analysis using 3D modeling tools, such as SolidWorks or similar software.
  • Perform mechanical and thermal testing, analyze test data, and provide recommendations for design improvements.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies in thermal management and battery design.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers in thermal and CFD analysis.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers and manufacturers to ensure successful implementation of mechanical designs.
  • Adhere to federal and state regulations.
  • Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Predictable and reliable attendance.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Masters’ degree in electrical engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer, with a focus on thermal management and CFD analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in using thermal simulation and CFD software, such as ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar tools.
  • Solid understanding of heat transfer principles, fluid dynamics, and thermal management techniques.
  • Experience in battery design work, including thermal management for battery systems.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software, such as SolidWorks, for mechanical design and analysis.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations related to thermal management and battery systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
