Summary
As an Emergency Medical Technician, you will be responsible for providing non-emergent transport and care care to patients who are in the hospital or otherwise unable to provide themselves. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and dedicated to the success of our organization. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a desire to learn and grow with our organization.
Responsibilities
Provide primary care for patients in the emergency department (i.e. non-life-threatening injuries, acute medical emergencies, etc.)
- Perform routine primary care tasks - taking vitals
- In cases where you are the primary provider for a patient, you will be responsible for completing all of their treatment goals and secondary treatment goals. You will also be responsible for coordinating with their primary provider(s) when secondary treatments need to be administered in order to meet treatment goals.
- In addition to your duties as an Emergency Medical Technician, you must be able to read and understand patient charts, complete appropriate assessments and provide treatment recommendations as required by the provider.
- You must be able to work as a team player in order to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Current BLS certification required. BLS certification obtained from a certified BLS trainer is automatically included in your certification for this position.
- Current EMT Certifications both National and SC State are required, NC state (only) is required if working exclusively in North Carolina.
