What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team Lead position at Amerlux?
Amerlux, a pioneer in the lighting industry for over 35 years, is seeking a Line Lead to join our production team. Work schedule is Monday - Friday 6 : 00am to 2 : 30pm. Must be able to work OT and Saturdays from 5 : 30am to 11 : 30am based on business needs.
The Line Lead will be part of the manufacturing / production assembly team, focusing on mechanical & wiring assembly, and inspection tasks and running projects as assigned from the Sr. Director of Manufacturing. This individual will be responsible for the quality, fit and finish of all material produced, while maintaining all safety standards through the process, as well as holding their team to all company policies to maintain a well-structured organization. The individual will need to be able to work independently or with minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities :
- Ensure the all work assigned to their areas is completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure that the production tech / line inspector is holding the quality, fit and finish of work produced on their line meets the Amerlux standards.
- Lead by example as leaders on the floor by having a positive attitude and holding everyone accountable to the Amerlux policy standards.
- Communicate any material issues or discrepancies to the Sr. Director of Manufacturing / QC Senior Manager.
- Must be able to assemble all assigned work to the manufacturers or Amerlux Engineering Department drawings.
- Make minor modifications when necessary and approved (wire dressing) to the fit and function of the fixture.
- Confirm all appropriate materials needed to complete a job, per the Bill of Materials, are with the work order (i.e. : ballast / driver, wire, hardware, and miscellaneous components) as well as printing out carton labels for each work order.
- Ensure that all first piece units are tested and reviewed by the line inspector
- Participate in the ongoing training and development of new assemblers as well as evaluating them to document their progress in the organization.
- Provide clear direction and support to assemblers assigned to their assembly line.
- Ensure that the material is properly packaged and labeled according to the shipping instructions.
- Lead in implementing and exercising Lean Manufacturing methodologies such as 1 piece flow, line balancing exercises, and maintain 6s practices
- Working diligently with the warehouse team to properly communicate picking issues and label extra parts to be return into location.
- Document all stoppages that affect the daily goals such as material issues, BOM errors, picking errors, and quality errors and ensuring everything is posted in our daily Tier meeting.
- Participating on continuous improvements discussions in the tier meeting and adding suggestions to better the team in any manner.
- Documenting any shortages pertaining to in process orders in the event another line must build them.
- Meets safety and quality expectations while adhering to all OSHA and Amerlux requirements.
- Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Company and Management.
