Job Summary
The Blaster is responsible for abrading surfaces of metal or hard composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart a specified finish.
Overview: We are currently seeking experienced Abrasive Blasters to join our team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in abrasive blasting and must possess SSSPC C7 or SSPC CAS certification or an approved equivalent. The ability to wear a respirator is essential for this role. SSPC C3 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities
- Performing abrasive blasting operations on marine vessels and structures according to specifications and quality standards.
- Preparing surfaces for coating by cleaning, sandblasting, and removing old paint and corrosion.
- Operating and maintaining abrasive blasting equipment and ensuring its safe and efficient use.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and protocols, including those related to the use of personal protective equipment such as respirators.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate workflow and ensure project deadlines are met.
- Additional duties may include assisting with coating applications and surface preparation as needed. Recovery of spent abrasives.
- Ability to work a 10 to 12-hour shift when required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in abrasive blasting.
- SSPC C7 or SSPC CAS certification or an approved equivalent is required.
- Ability to wear a respirator and comply with respiratory protection requirements.
- SSPC C3 certification is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks in a marine environment, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
