Job Summary
AMP United a trusted provider of fabrication, repair, and maintenance services for the Department of Defense, is seeking a skilled and experienced Welding Supervisor to lead and manage welding teams in support of military and defense projects. The Welding Supervisor will oversee welding operations to ensure compliance with stringent quality and safety standards while meeting project deadlines and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Supervise, coach, and mentor a team of welders, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and evaluate performance to ensure work quality and productivity.
- Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to welding personnel as needed.
- Operational Oversight:
- Plan and coordinate daily welding activities to align with project schedules and priorities.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications to ensure accurate and precise execution of work.
- Monitor equipment usage and ensure proper maintenance to maximize efficiency and safety.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all welding work meets or exceeds applicable codes, standards, and contract requirements, including MIL-STD specifications.
- Conduct inspections of welds to verify quality, structural integrity, and adherence to specifications.
- Work with quality control teams to resolve any issues and implement corrective actions.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and DoD safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety briefings, inspections, and hazard assessments.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to established safety protocols.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for welding operations, providing updates to project managers and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records, including timekeeping, materials usage, and incident reports.
- Contribute to project planning and improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Welding certifications (e.g., AWS, ASME) preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of [X] years of welding experience, including [Y] years in a supervisory role.
- Experience working on military or DoD-related projects is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills:
