Job description
Position: Disability Fraud Investigator, Full Time, Monday through Friday. Chicago, Illinois.
Clearance Requirement: FBI Fingerprint Check
Work Location: Chicago, Illinois and in the field throughout the state of Illinois.
Annual Compensation: $80,000 plus Full Benefits to include Paid Time Off, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Life Insurance.
Responsibilities: Conduct investigations of suspected disability fraud cases referred to the US Government agency and develop independent evidence of material facts to successfully support allegations of fraud. Conduct surveillance and videotape activities of Title II and Title XVI claimants/beneficiaries suspected of committing fraud. Conduct undercover operations, interview suspects and witnesses, and use databases (NCIC, NCIB) to obtain information on suspects. Coordinate with Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies and prepare reports of investigation and cases for referral to the U.S. Attorney or appropriate State or local Prosecuting Attorney. Use existing Illinois statewide law enforcement and arrest authority and any additional authority provided if appointed as a Special Deputy U.S. Marshall in support of disability fraud cases.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of law enforcement experience.
- Active Illinois Statewide Law Enforcement and Statewide Arrest Authority.
- Current firearms qualification and training consistent with US Government applicable regulations and policies.
- Competency to testify in court.
- Ability to prepare reports of investigation for use with attaining search and arrest warrants from Federal, State, and local courts.
- Ability to pass an FBI fingerprint background check.
- Familiarity with U.S. Federal, State, and local laws regarding Fraud and Disability Claims.
- Ability to work in the office in Chicago Illinois and throughout the state of Illinois for investigative travel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Possess a deep understanding of current investigative techniques, practices, and legal limitations.
