What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Animal Medical Center?
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will assist in providing the highest quality of care to animals, working closely with veterinarians to ensure the well-being of our patients.
Duties include:
- Perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis and blood counts
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and dental procedures
- Take radiographs
- Administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a veterinarian
- Place intravenous catheters and perform venipuncture
- Maintain animal husbandry by ensuring clean and safe conditions for all patients
- Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent infection and maintain a sterile environment
- Demonstrate proficiency in veterinary terminology
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures and X-ray techniques
- Experience in animal catheterization and venipuncture
- Strong knowledge of animal husbandry practices
- Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques to ensure the safety of animals and staff
