We are seeking a Battery Engineering Intern in Ann Arbor, Michigan that will assist with the design, production and testing of lithium-ion battery components, cells, BMS, modules and packs. The intern will be assigned a project and mentored by a senior staff member this summer from approximately May to August.
Responsibilities
Education: Interns are generally college students pursuing STEM degree programs. There are no specific restrictions on major, graduation year or progress.
Preferred Experience: Battery (or related) industry exposure or some coursework including battery science/technology is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
- Support battery module and pack mechanical design and development.
- Design mechanical components in CAD software.
- Perform calculations
- Conduct module and pack level testing.
- Basic data work up and reporting to supervisors.
- Contribute to reports and presentations as directed.
- Develop, write, and follow standard operating procedures and methods.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Maintain assigned equipment/assets/properties.
- Comply with Navitas policies and procedures.
- Perform in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.
- Participate in activities needed to support the management functions of the team.
- Follow all safety policies and operate in a safe manner.
- On site presence is essential and necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills And Traits
- Must be comfortable supporting US military-funded work and building products for US military testing and use.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Solidworks, Altium and Matlab experience a plus
- Successful candidates will be both quality and detail oriented, be team oriented and flexible. They will possess good interpersonal skills, be good in written and verbal communication and be able to interface with co-workers and management.
