Position Summary:
To provide evaluation, consultation, and direct service, in the areas of gross motor to infants, toddlers and their families. This position participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team in providing comprehensive services to clients in their natural environment, via in- person or through Telehealth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Physical therapy for client to promote the acquisition of gross motor skills.
- Incorporate family’s involvement in order to integrate gross motor skills in all aspects of the clients’ routines.
- Provide clients and their families with adaptive equipment and refer clients to other medical services such as orthopedists, neurologists and/or other specialists as necessary.
- Recommend educational material and activities to assist parents in implementing appropriate gross motor therapy techniques.
- Maintain up to date with current research and statistics in the field of gross motor therapy.
- Deliver at least 85% of planned direct services.
- Deliver initial service within 28 days from IFSP date.
- Complete assessments and evaluations for children with motor concerns to determine level of functioning and eligibility criteria.
- Develop Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP) for qualified case in collaboration with the client’s family within 45 days of the referral date.
- Provides ongoing monitoring of the IFSP, at least once every six months, to provide professional opinion as to the effectiveness of services.
- Complete written reports and all necessary paperwork daily and submit paperwork within 24 hours of completion.
- Meet agency and program deadlines.
- Attend Any Baby Can, program meetings and activities as requested.
- Other assignments may be added as needed or required.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Texas required.
- Master’s degree in Physical Therapy.
- Language skill in English and Spanish, preferred.
- Experience working with children and families and persons of different cultures.
- Knowledge of the physical and psychological development of children.
Special Considerations:
- Must have reliable transportation to travel within the assigned region, if driving own vehicle, must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work more than 8 hours per day.
- Flexible, able to work well under pressure and handle crisis situations.
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel as necessary to fulfill daily duties assigned.
- Ability to effectively/clearly communicate.
Salary : $86,000 - $91,000
