FULL TIME POOL TECHNICIAN
A pool attendant performs guest safety and enforcing of regulations at a resort pool as well as providing for the guest-s comfort. An essential responsibility of this role includes ensuring the cleanliness and safety of all areas and facilities. Attend to all guest’s needs within the resort pool areas as per the safety guidelines of the resort management. The pool attendant partners with the Aloha Ambassadors and Pool Technicians to meet the needs of Guests by providing exemplary Guest Service at various Recreation locations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- College coursework in the related fields is helpful.
- Experience in a resort or a related field is preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Computer experience required.
- Excellent Customer Services experience preferred.
- Must have a good understanding of the English language.
- CPR and First Aide Certified preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Flexible and long hours may be required.
- Ability to stand and patrol the property for long periods during a full shift.
- Must be able to do light work- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or constantly able to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects.
- Able to climb flights of stairs and conduct foot patrols.

- Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS:
Observe and patrol the pool and enforce safety regulations.
- Assist swimmers from water when in danger.
- Provide excellent service consistent with the resort’s standards operation procedures and brand attributes.
- Greet all guests upon arrival, deliver consistent guest service, exceed guest expectations, and provide all other supporting services.
- Knowledgeable of pool facilities such as length and depth of both lap and lagoon pools, how many laps it takes to complete a mile in meters and feet, etc.
- Poolside bar hours of operation, location of facilities, and emergency procedure for rescue.
- Knowledgeable of resort facilities and services to answer guest inquires.
- Willing to take ownership of all guest/owner requests and complaints, try to resolve issues immediately, and follow up to ensure guest/owner satisfaction.
- Identify and report defects throughout the pool and spa areas, notify management and concerned departments immediately of hazards, injuries, equipment, or processes that negatively affect operations.
- Ensure swimming pools, BBQs, fitness center, and locker room areas are clean at all times. Report any maintenance issues to the engineering department.
- Ensure the pool decks are swept and all furniture is straightened.
- Ensure umbrellas are secured to bases and safe for use. Monitor and close umbrellas on days with high winds.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of resuscitation, first aid, and CPR/AED techniques.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions and be able to establish a safe and fun work environment for self and others.
- Greet and welcome all guests/renters/owners.
- Answer guest inquiries about resort services, facilities, and hours of operation in an Aloha manner.
- Be familiar with hospitality terminology.
- Have knowledge of emergency procedures and assist as needed.
- Use proper two-way radio etiquette at all times when communicating with other employees.
- Fully comprehend and be able to operate all relevant aspects of pool aquatics
- Be able to perform and complete all tasks and duties on the shift checklist in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Assist guests with special requests.
