What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Math Teacher position at APBS?
The candidate applying for this job must have experience teaching science to grades 6th-8 students, a four year college degree and be willing to teach in person. APBS is a school school with a hybrid program; candidate must be willing to teach using multiple digital platforms (in the event of sick students having to learn online). Training for the use of these platforms is provided. We have one vacancy to teach science grades 5-8. Classroom average size is 15 students. It is important for the candidate to be spiritually mature and willing to support our emphasis on student empathy and moral values.
-Create lesson plans and teach those plans to the entire class, individually to students or in small groups,
-Track student progress and present the information to parents
-Create tests and reinforce classroom rules
-Work with school administration prepare students for the SAT standardized test
-Manage class behavior.
-Monitor students at all times to ensure safety
-All lessons must have an objective, title, introduction, activity or body, practice (individual or in group work), a conclusion or review of what was taught and a homework daily.
-Prepare the board with an agenda that includes all the parts named above
-Input all lesson plans in Gradelink by Monday of each week
-Test/quiz children weekly (as required by A Beka/LifePac/BJU curriculums)

Pay: $20.00 - $22.50 per hour
