Overview
Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a full-time Nuclear Command, Control Communications (NC3) Subject Matter Expert supporting US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) NC3 Enterprise Center (NEC) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) at Ft Meade, MD.
The SE&I Division serves as the principal enterprise systems engineering, enterprise architecture, and technical authority for the NC3 Enterprise within the Department of Defense. As the lead NC3 Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) arm of the NC3 Enterprise Center, the division applies and remains up to date on systems engineering best practices and translates mission and operational requirements into appropriate technical specifications and solutions. SE&I also has the responsibility to apply established standards, and, when necessary, develop new standards, to ensure seamless interoperability across the NC3 enterprise. The SE&I is comprised of 3 branches:

Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Assess and identify opportunities and technological capabilities across the NC3 Enterprise, interface with industry, DoD mission partners, and academia, and provide specific recommendations for the NEC SE&I (e.g., reports, papers, briefings).
- Conduct mission engineering studies to guide decisions focused on the end-to-end mission to identify new or enhanced capabilities and provide impacts of performance levels on NC3 systems.
- Provide high-level communication systems subject matter expertise, including terrestrial and satellite communication systems, and associated technologies to support the NC3 Enterprise.
- Prepare technical reports, studies, and related documentation (charts, graphs, presentations) to apply engineering and threat impact assessments for developing, evaluating, and sustaining NC3 systems.
- Assess new technologies and innovations to develop technical recommendations that ensure the integrity and continuity of operations supporting evolving NC3 requirements.
- Provide NC3 communication system technical expertise to the NC3 enterprise regarding signal propagation, modeling and simulation, test and design, and system development.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret w/ SCI Eligibility Education: Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical field Years of experience: 10 years' relevant experience- Providing extremely high‐level subject matter expertise for work described in the task. Providing advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environment, high‐level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, training, and implementation advice on complex problems for effective implementation.
- Applying principles, methods, and knowledge of specific functional areas of expertise to specific task order requirements.
- Providing advice on esoteric problems which require extensive knowledge of the subject matter.
- Designing and preparing technical reports, studies, and related documentation, making charts and graphs to record results, preparing and delivering presentations, training, and briefings as required by the task order.

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience regarding NC3 requirements, operations, and procedures and proven ability to prepare NC3 analysis, documentation, and reports.
- Ability to apply principles, methods, and knowledge of NC3 systems

Benefits and Compensation:
- Apogee offers two medical plans, a high deductible health plan with an HRA and a traditional POS plan with co-pays, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, paid holidays, parental, military, and jury duty paid leaves. Regular part-time employees scheduled for twenty-four or more hours per work week are eligible for benefits on a pro-rated basis.
- The base pay for this position ranges from $160,000-$190,000. Base pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, training, and education.
