Certified Pharmacy Technician
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in providing medication and healthcare products to patients. As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of prescriptions, supporting patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient pharmacy environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Maintains customer awareness when in any areas of the company and assists the customer or seeks assistance for them.
· Greets and communicates with employees and non-employees in a friendly courteous manner.
· Seeks assistance from your supervisor when you have reached your limitations.
· Performs as a team member by assisting co-workers with their duties.
· Knows the employee manual.
· Knows department policies and procedures within the limitations of your job.
· Knows the department’s services and inventory and the availability of inventory if not in stock.
· Knows the company's other inventory and services.
· Accepts other duties as assigned or as added in job description.
· Maintains a safe, neat, and organized work area.
· Knows federal and state pharmacy regulations.
· Assists in stocking of the daily pharmacy order.
· Understands the pharmacy computer system and can accurately operate it producing the correct output; including but not limited to patient information, entering correct Rx data, third party billing, drug/inventory file, pricing, etc.
· Assembles materials, prepares for dispensing, checks finished prescription (s) for accuracy and places completed prescription orders in the assigned area for the pharmacist check.
· Understands how to utilize and maintains (fills and cleans) the automated medication system.
· Is familiar with specialized billing, filling, and delivery for all the various customers and organizations, including but not limited to Coastal Hospice, Hudson Health, Homes for Hope, etc.
· Assists in ensuring that inventory counts are correct, and that inventory is in date and with proper levels.
· Ensures that departmental schedules are followed, and deadlines are met.
· Prepares physicians’ orders.
· Coordinates all medications for delivery, mail, and UPS.
Qualifications:
Age: Must be 18 years of age or older.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
License: Pharmacy Technician Certified by a State of Maryland approved program and is Maryland registered.
Experience/Knowledge: Communication skills; people oriented; retail drug store sales and/or technician experience preferred.
Physical
Requirements: Must be able to stand for 8- to 10-hour shifts and easily stoop, bend and reach. Must be able to use a ladder/step stool to refill and maintain Parata Max. Must have the ability to use a standard keyboard to type. Able to lift 25 pounds.

Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
