- Project Planning and Coordination:
- Plan and schedule construction activities in accordance with project timelines.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring all tasks are completed on time.
- Site Management:
- Supervise all construction activities and personnel on-site.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with building and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with specifications.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage project budget and track expenses.
- Procure materials and equipment necessary for construction activities.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve cost-effective solutions.
- Team Leadership and Communication:
- Lead, motivate, and manage the construction team, including subcontractors and laborers.
- Communicate project progress, issues, and changes to stakeholders regularly.
- Resolve conflicts or issues that arise during construction promptly and effectively.
- Safety and Quality Control:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures on-site.
- Ensure that all work meets quality standards and specifications.
- Address any safety or quality concerns immediately.
- Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role in construction management. Minimum of 5 years of experience required.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR) are a plus.
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Must be willing to travel out of state.
