What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineer position at AppleOne Technical Staffing?
We are looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer to provide engineering, technical, logistics, and obsolescence Training support to Military ships and vessels related to the following systems and equipment in the Norfolk, Virginia area : Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (AC&R) systems for U.S. Navy submarines – both in-service and new construction and equipment support.
Must have prior Navy experience and a Certification through the Navy.
The Mechanical Engineer position will design, evaluate, plan, test and operate mechanical equipment and systems for commercial, government, military and / or scientific uses.
The candidate's primary duties and responsibilities include :
- Creating mechanical designs and drawings
- Writing precise calculations
- Creating and testing prototypes for functionality
- Re-engineering products when problems are found and recalculating for the return of products to full functionality
- Preparing reports and documentation for leadership
- Perform obsolescence evaluation and assist with finding replacements
- This is a fast-growing program with opportunity for growth and advancement. While the opportunity for hybrid work is available candidates need to be local to attend meetings, complete in office and test site work as required.
