Position Description

As a Low Voltage Technicinan II, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities during specific timeframes:

• First 30 days, you will learn:
  • How the Low Voltage tean installs and maintains low voltage wiring systems throughout the Applied Medical campus
  • team equipment and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Applied Medical's mission, values, and vertically integrated business model, including an introduction to our SOPs and company policies
  • How to read and understand technicial drawings
  • Work independently on small projects as well as in a group setting
• Within 90 days, you will learn:
  • How to assist in cable installation, termination, and dressing
  • How to use basic power tools and test equipment
  • How to work in a highly collaborative team environment and finish projects quickly while adhering to Applied Medical’s standards
• After 90 days to one year, you will:
  • Work independently on small projects as well as in a group setting
•  Ongoing learning:
  • Pulling, terminating, and testing data for low voltage cables
  • Installing support structures, such as racks, trays, slings, and j-hook
  • Working from elevated positions on aerial lifts

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

• Required 3-5 years commercial/industrial experience pulling, terminating, splicing, testing and troubleshooting fiber and CAT6 cable.
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Team player with good communication skills
• Stand for extended periods of time.
• Crawl, climb, kneel, squat or bend.
• Lift approximately 50-80 pounds.
• Work in tight, confined spaces and at extreme heights.
• Work in a variety of weather conditions, including cold, heat, and rain.

Preferred

The following skills and attributes are preferred:

• Ability to install and basic bend conduit.
• Electrical experience in similar field
