What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Analyst Team Leader position at Applied Underwriters?
- Coordinating and leading a technical analyst team responsible for analyzing, designing, building, maintaining, and continuously improving the Company’s core databases and applications.
- Supervising, mentoring, and reviewing the work of a team of Technical Analysts.
- Managing the change request backlog assigned to the team and planning sprints.
- Analyzing and structuring assignment requirements and defining development tasks for team members.
- Facilitating daily stand up meetings and sprint retrospectives with team members.
- Enforcing software development standards, best practices, documentation and testing.
- Creating and maintaining technical, training, and business logic documentation.
- Providing ongoing technical training to team members in the technologies utilized by the team.
- Leading the team in implementing requested changes to core applications and databases by developing new software solutions through all phases of the software development lifecycle including:
- Working with users to establish functional and technical requirements, designing and programming software applications or system modifications;
- Studying system flow, data usage, and work processes;
- Designing complex architectural frameworks for existing and new components and features;
- Creating, configuring and maintaining application databases, including monitoring database integrity, performance, and security;
- Developing and managing database models for optimal data storage and retrieval;
- Performing various data migrations, data interchanges, reporting, and analysis across various business functions; and
- Writing complex queries, procedures and functions to support software needs.
Note that this is a Team Lead role. This position does not have direct reports.
Requirements
Position requires a Master’s degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a closely related field and 3 years of experience as a Technical Analyst.
Must Also Have 3 Years Of Experience (which Can Have Been Gained Concurrently With Either Primary Experience Requirement Above) Working With The Following
- Microsoft Visual FoxPro and FoxPro 2.6, Visual Studio, ASP.Net, .Net Core and .Net Standard;
- SQL Server Management Studio, SalesLogix Architect and Client and PowerShell;
- HTML, XML, JSON, SOAP and REST protocols;
- Plastic SCM, FoxBin2Prg and Azure DevOps;
- Designing and developing applications involving the automation of payroll and insurance claims processing.
This is a telecommuting position working from home. May reside anywhere in the United States.
