Underwriter (Internal Only)

The Underwriter is responsible for reviewing and grading customer applications on a timely basis. The Underwriter is also responsible for the review and verification of supporting documents, where necessary, prior to or after funding.

Essential Functions

• Collect all necessary information to accurately note accounts and applications
• Ensure all dealers receive immediate credit decisions, in accordance with our lending guidelines
• Review, assess, and verify credit information to fully evaluate every applicant’s creditworthiness within assigned underwriting authority parameters and company policy and procedures
• Ability to recognize problems and assist in negotiating solutions with Dealers and Brokers on underwriting related issues
• Work together with all other employees to collectively achieve company growth, delinquency, and yield objectives
• Greets customers by phone in a timely, friendly, and professional manner
• Assist in timely verification of contracts in support of company objectives

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, visualize, talk, hear, and handle or touch objects or controls. The employee may occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.

This position is an office-based position where you must be able to sit for long periods of time. The employee will be working on a computer 90% of the time.
