We’re now hiring a Shipping Supervisor at Arcadian Services in Florence, Alabama!
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the shipment and receipt of all materials. They are also responsible will interact with customers and prospective customers, enter orders, invoices, and receivables, as well as following up on customer satisfaction.

Candidates are required to possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) , or we are willing to assist in obtaining one!
Typical day in the life as a Shipping Supervisor :
Manage and oversee a team of 2-3 people.Evaluate direct employees and perform written and verbal evaluations on a regular basis.Train employees in all necessary aspects of their positions.Operate material handling equipment as required by plant activities.Inspect forklifts daily, complete required documentation and report all non-conformances.Operate a 24-foot box truck to transfer inventory between facilities.Unload deliveries, and verify materials received in matches the purchase order and bill of lading.Prepare orders for shipping and load trucks according to the packing slip form.Properly handle, store, label, placard and check necessary paperwork relating to receiving and shipment of hazardous materials.Prepare bills of lading for shipping.Work closely with freight carriers and obtain freight rates for each outbound shipment.Participate in inspections of products in storage areas.Complete warehouse transfers to support warehouse organization and production requirements on a weekly basis, or as needed.Participate in finished goods & raw materials inventories as required.Store all material in a safe and organized manner to prevent accidents and inventory damage or loss.Ensure that the work area is always clean, tidy, and safe.Daily housekeeping of warehouse floor ensuring walkways and motor lanes are free of trash and other debris that would prevent a safety hazard.Notify supervisor of any non-conformances relating to the quality management system, damage to property or product.Strictly comply with environmental and occupational health and safety rules.Notify supervisor or HSE coordinator immediately regarding any incidents / accidents, near misses, equipment / facilities damage, spills, etc.Ability & willingness to work overtime as needed.Performs all work requested by supervisor.What are we looking for?
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required .2 years forklift operation experience and 2 years of warehouse / shipping / receiving requiredExperience and knowledge of handling hazardous materials preferred.Must have a commercial driver’s license (CDL) or could obtain the license.If you feel as though you would make a great fit for this position, please submit a current resume for review!
