SUPPY TECHNICIAN
Essential Duties :
- Responsible for limited technical supply management duties including inventory, storage, and property utilization in consideration of total JT4 program requirements.
- Responsible for inventory management of decentralized and decontrolled items, including supplies, and equipment.
- Performs material coordination duties for special programs, maintenance, or production shops.
- Duties are performed based on practical experience in processing and expediting supply transactions related to the organization serviced.
- Writes item descriptions for a range of new items entering the supply channels of a particular agency or field establishment.
- Reviews existing stock catalogs, manufacturers' catalogs, drawings, or other resource materials, for matching characteristics or part numbers to identify duplicate items already catalogued or otherwise recorded in the supply system.
- May contact representatives of commercial firms to obtain information regarding new items of supply, item characteristics, or procurement lead-time; or representatives of government agencies (Federal, State or local) regarding the utilization of property.
- Provides guidance to other Logistics personnel throughout the JT4 contract as required.
- Maintains records on storeroom items and ensures the accuracy and accountability of storeroom inventories.
- Receives, stores, and issues parts, supplies, and materials as required.
- Confers with individuals, shop lead, supervisors, and customers to determine required due dates for needed material, expedites overdue assets, and locates required material when needed.
- Researches part numbers and calls vendors to verify part numbers, asset availability, and estimated cost.
- Determines correct source of acquisition, including Base Supply, GSA or Local Purchase.
- Prepares Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for parts and material according to job order priorities, anticipated availability of material, and verifies these facts and documents are correct before submission.
- Examines parts and materials upon receipt to verify conformance to specifications prior to issue or storage.
- Ensures supply databases are correctly updated with part numbers and quantities.
- Arranges inter-site transfer of materials when required.
- Compiles reports of quantity and type of material in stock and back ordered. May move or transport material from one department or customer to another, using hand truck or industrial truck.
- Verifies transactions through the Base Supply reports and listings accessed via Internet.
- Processes Core and DIFM returns in a timely manner.
- Ensures PMEL items are scheduled and calibrated in a timely manner.
- Make inquiries using DOD electronic query system before placing orders through ILS-S.
- Personnel selected may be required to assist in other areas or functions depending on mission requirements and changes (cross-utilization).
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Travel as required by the company.
Education :
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience :
Must have a good working knowledge of both the MAXIMO and ILS-S supply systems, programs, and policies and a minimum of 3 years' experience working with these systems during the past 5 years. Must have an established record of effectively working with Base Supply and CLIC personnel to resolve problems using in-depth knowledge of supporting data systems, processes, and procedures. Must have demonstrated experience working directly with Government personnel and evaluators to solve problems and develop new procedures based on changes within the JT4 program or Government directives. Must have the ability to write draft ISO publications in conjunction with Supply, PMO, or CLIC employees that describe how to accomplish specific Logistics tasks. Must have verified experience working with IT personnel to evaluate new or upgraded data systems and the ability to analyze and compare new and old system capabilities to document required system processes, data fields, and reports. Must possess an analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data, to establish the facts, and to take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines. Must have the ability to research parts and related material to obtain required parts.
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to operate up to a 5k capacity forklift.
Must be able to repetitively hold / balance, reach, flex position, twist, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat / crouch, climb, and sit (all for short or long periods of time).
Must have a full range of mobility and endurance and be able to lift objects that weigh a minimum of 45 pounds.
Other Requirements :
Obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Must possess a Class "C" Driver's License as a minimum.
Extensive knowledge of PC computers and use of compatible software.
Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and understand English.
Must have the ability to work independently using sound judgment and can perform tasks associated with Logistics.
