Parish Administrator

John and Paul Parish seeks a Parish Administrator to innovate and transform our operations while aligning daily performance with long-term goals and strategies.

Role Summary

As Parish Administrator, you will assist the Pastor in achieving the Parish's mission and vision. Your leadership will drive innovation, operational efficiency, and team engagement across staff and volunteers.

Core Responsibilities

Executive Leadership

  • Strategize with staff and volunteers to support Parish growth and mission advancement.
  • Implement strategic plans, manage aligned procedures, and establish performance metrics.
  • Develop and enforce Parish-wide policies that uphold culture, values, and risk management.

Human Resources

  • Supervise administrative and support staff, ensuring productivity and mission alignment.
  • Assist in recruitment and hiring, adhering to Archdiocese of Detroit (AOD) policies.
  • Oversee payroll, benefits, and other HR-related activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Operational Leadership

  • Provide financial oversight, including timely and accurate budgeting, reporting, and trend analysis.
  • Lead budgeting and auditing processes and facilitate major financial decisions.
  • Serve as a member of the Ss. John and Paul Finance Council, alongside the Pastor.
  • Manage special projects within the operations scope or as assigned by the Pastor.
  • Assume responsibilities of Pastoral Associate. Be present at Masses to assist and ensure they run efficiently.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with Archdiocese of Detroit (AOD) policies and local, state, and federal laws.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols, employee guidelines, and emergency preparedness plans.

Parish Community Engagement

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with parishioners, volunteers, staff.
  • Support ministries by ensuring spiritual, financial and operational resources are available.
  • Collaborate on fundraising initiatives, including stewardship campaigns and events.
  • Approve external advertising and oversee staff contributions to social media content.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline.
  • 10 years of management experience.
  • Expertise in information systems, facilities management, and construction project oversight.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church.
