The Maintenance and Facilities Manager (MFM) is responsible for maintaining the facility, equipment, and grounds in optimal working condition, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. Working closely with key leadership team members, the MFM will develop and implement a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program to enhance equipment reliability and workplace safety.
Primary Responsibilities
- Team Management: Recruit, train, and manage a skilled maintenance team, ensuring personnel are competent, developed, and effectively utilized.
- Capital Planning and Budgeting: Oversee the implementation of plant capital plans, manage maintenance budgets, and track MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) expenses.
- TPM Program: Establish and maintain a comprehensive TPM program to ensure critical production assets, the building, and grounds are consistently operational and well-maintained.
- Inventory Management: Develop and sustain a critical spare parts inventory to support timely equipment repairs and maximize uptime.
- 5S Initiatives: Drive improvements within the maintenance department using 5S principles and support other departments in implementing and enhancing 5S practices as needed.
- Maintenance Oversight: Initiate maintenance work orders, prepare cost justifications for significant repairs or renovations, and manage maintenance project feasibility reviews and status tracking.
- Performance Metrics: Prepare and present monthly goals and objectives metrics, implementing corrective actions as necessary to meet performance targets.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of equipment servicing, repairs, and safety protocols. Ensure adherence to IOSHA, NFPA, ANSI, and company safety standards.
- Schedule Management: Develop and oversee maintenance and engineering project schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Safety Leadership: Serve as Fire Department Liaison for inspections and record-keeping, and support safety plans and initiatives. Facilitate training programs to promote hazard awareness and proper equipment use.
- Vendor Relationships: Manage vendor agreements and relationships for maintenance-related services and supplies.
- Lean Manufacturing: Promote and implement Lean Manufacturing principles within the maintenance department.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Actively participate in waste elimination efforts and support the company’s Sustainability/GPS programs.
- Other Responsibilities: Support company goals, objectives, and special projects as assigned.
Professional Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of experience in maintenance, including equipment repair, facility upkeep, and grounds management.
- Knowledge of welding, electrical, plumbing, and sewing machine repair is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and proven success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Motivated self-starter with a focus on continuous improvement and team collaboration.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
