Description
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for directed the fiscal functions of the company in accordance with generally accepted accounting principals (GAAP) and cost reimbursement principles relating to the home heath care industry and in keeping with the goals and objectives of the organization.
Requirements
Specific responsibilities include:
- Manage all employees of the department, the performance management and hiring employees within the department.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function.
- Participate in the development of the organization's plans and programs.
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory interaction.
- Develop and advise on cost and reimbursement strategies.
- Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets and financial reports that will assist the Board President, Board Members, and other senior managers in managing their responsibilities.
- Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the agency.
- Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
- Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
- Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs of the company.
- Ensure continual improvement of the timeliness and accuracy of the agency's cash flow and management of the billing process.
- Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth opportunities.
- Oversee HUD apartment financial duties performed by Assistant Chief Financial Officer.
- Assist in annual audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualification Requirements (Education, Knowledge, Experience):
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field strongly preferred.
- 6-10 years of related experience.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of account and reporting policies and procedures in a health system environment.
- Ability to proficiently use and perform key functions of MS Office programs.
- Ability to travel out of the area and overnight.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and excellent communication skills.
