What We're Looking For:


Aretec, Inc. seeks a dynamic Implementation Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the modernization of a critical federal e-commerce system. This role requires a deep understanding of AWS technologies, microservices architecture, and legacy system migration. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of delivering successful cloud-based solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical implementation of a legacy system migration to a modern, microservices-based architecture on AWS.
  • Analyze existing legacy systems, identify technical dependencies, and develop a detailed migration plan.
  • Design and implement solutions for data migration, application refactoring, and integration with existing systems.
  • Collaborate with the project team, including developers, architects, and business analysts, to ensure a smooth transition and successful system deployment.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and implementation guides.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards for secure coding and system development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the migration process, working closely with the hosting provider and other technical teams.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest AWS technologies and best practices, continuously evaluating and recommending improvements to the system architecture and development processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal security and accessibility regulations, including RMF, FISCAM, and Section 508.

Required Skills


  • Expert-level knowledge of AWS services and microservices architecture, with proven experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions.
  • Strong understanding of legacy technologies, including .NET, Oracle, and Active Server Pages, and experience migrating such systems to modern architectures.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Java or Python, and experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, and tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proven track record of identifying and resolving complex technical issues.

Required Certifications and Clearances

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) or equivalent certification. This information is not found in the sources and may need to be independently verified.

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage more deeply with federal partners, understanding their challenges and developing tailored solutions.

Day Ninety:

  • Full Project Ownership: Assume full ownership of key projects or initiatives, driving them from inception to completion.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance processes and foster innovation within projects and the organization.
  • Mentorship and Development: Actively mentor junior team members, sharing your knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
