We are seeking an Quality Lab Manager to join the team in Valdosta, GA

Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Quality Laboratory Manager oversees the activities of the laboratory and ensures its smooth and efficient functioning.
- Responsible for the operation of the department.
- Trains staff and assigns/checks work of subordinates.
- Performs staff-related functions (i.e., disciplining, training, problems, etc.).
- Performs advanced or specialized tests and other related laboratory techniques. May duplicate work of others to confirm test results. Re-evaluates methodology, makes recommended changes, and assists in test interpretation.
- Initiate quality-control measures and monitors work quality for compliance with laboratory standards.
- Completes special projects like surveys, statistical reports, studies, and research.
- Maintains records for the quality process.
- Monitors adherence to safety regulations.
- Coordinates purchases supplies for the laboratory.
- Recommends procurement of new laboratory equipment and monitors maintenance/repair needs of existing equipment.
- May write department reports.
May assist in budget planning and cost analysis.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of experience and education
- 4 to 6 years of experience in a similar field preferred.
