Quality Lab Technician

Arglass Furnace is a fresh startup entering this market as a new innovative disrupter of the norm in glass manufacturing. Arglass plans to be the plant of choice for the spirits and beverage industries. As the first new glass plant in America in over a generation, Arglass is born to serve those customers whose needs for flexibility, efficiency and customization are not being met by legacy U.S. manufacturers or foreign glass suppliers. The plant has been designed by considering the best available proven technology and layout to provide high quality, highly flexible and efficient production.

We are seeking an Quality Lab Tech to join the team in Valdosta, GA

Status of hire: Full time

Industry: Glass container manufacturing

Reports to: Individual Contributor

Responsibilities:

• Under the direction of the Quality Lab Manager, and Directly to the Slot Operations Manager the Quality Lab Technician oversees the activities of the laboratory and ensures its smooth and efficient functioning.
• Performs tests and other related laboratory techniques. May duplicate work of others to confirm test results.
• Use metric supplies to quantitively review aspects of fully formed containers.
• Initiates quality-control measures and monitors quality for compliance with Customer standards.
• Action any out of specification results and implement follow-up testing when necessary.
• Communicate with all departments on any trends that occur and provide details to make decisions.
• Maintains records for the quality process.
• Adherence to safety regulations.
• Ensure the laboratory space is clean, functioning, and presentable.
• Support other departments as they perform routine quality checks and data entry.
• Capability to analyze data and concisely present the results.

Requirements:

• Two-year degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills · Ability to thrive in a fast paced and demanding position.

• Demonstrated ability to supervise a team.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to traverse steps without assistance. ·
• Must be able to verbally communicate in potentially loud environments ·
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs unassisted. ·
• Vision: Must be able to make visual recognition of the working environment. ·
• Environment: Exposures encountered such as: hazardous materials, loud noise, and extreme heat. ·
• Hearing: Must be able to hear team members, alarms, mechanical sounds, and sounds of personnel distress ·
• Essential physical requirements such as climbing, bending, reaching, standing, stooping or typing. ·
• Standing and walking throughout a 12-hour shift.
