Job Summary:
As Beverage Manager at Army Navy Country Club, you'll oversee all aspects of our beverage program, ensuring exceptional service and top-quality offerings for our members and guests. Key responsibilities include overseeing the Club’s beverage program and active wine club.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all beverage programs throughout the club (includes restaurant outlets and banquet operations)
- Must be knowledgeable about the latest industry trends in wine, beer, alcohol and N/A beverages
- Oversee the ANCC Wine Club
- Around 400 members
- 12 wine events throughout the year (including tastings, wine dinners, etc.)
- Handle off premise wine sales
- Manage beverage vendor relationships
- Work closely with Banquet and Restaurant Managers in the day-to-day operations of the Food and Beverage Department
- Oversee line-level staff in day-to-day operations in the Food and Beverage Department when needed (including but not limited to preparation, service, breakdown, and cleaning)
- Maintain culture of respect among all staff, supervisors, and management team
- Maintain strong lines of communication between FOH and BOH teams
- Facilitate training on service steps and beverage concepts
- Establish oneself as a resource for event hosts and sponsors
- Perform monthly inventory
- Assist Managers in interviews, onboarding and training new staff as needed
- Ensure safety, quality and operable stock of equipment and product
- Be willing to work a flexible schedule
- Show desire to learn and grow within the Club
- Other duties as assigned include covering for Banquet and Restaurant managers when they are out of office
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to operate computer systems including but not limited to POS terminals and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work holidays, early mornings, late nights, weekends, and extended hours
Education and Experience:
- Prior wine education and experience strongly preferred
- Prior experience in club, hotel or restaurant operations management strongly preferred
- Degree or certificate in hospitality management preferred
