We are currently seeking an experienced Claims Advocate to be part of a dedicated internal Claims Department, supporting both Personal Lines clients and Commercial Line customers. This is a full-time position based out of West Chester, PA. Hybrid Work Schedules are offered.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for initiating claim file upon receipt of notice of a claim / loss which includes policy verification, making preliminary or tentative determinations of coverage directing to the correct carrier and line of business; for the purpose of payment, and permanent record keeping.
- Report claims to the insurance company in a timely manner and follow up to confirm that the claim was received and contact has been made with the insured.
- With incidents / accidents that are no fault or no liability, report those on behalf of the insured to the correct adverse carrier and confirm payment or defense as appropriate.
- Monitor adjuster’s action plan and performance in accordance with agency published standards.
- Advocate on client’s behalf and or assist client if they are not obtaining the appropriate service and resolution from the carrier / adjuster.
- Initiate a status or a follow-up on all open or unsettled claims on an as needed basis and establish a specific timeline to follow-up as needed.
- Notifies insurance carriers of any reserve deficiencies or excesses, soliciting management assistance when necessary.
- Responds to claims-related inquiries from insured, agency personnel, repair shops, producers, etc.
- Maintain files, documents, and update agency management per agency standards. Assist in the maintenance of the company intranet and agency management system.
- Participate and implement projects and claim reviews as assigned by the department manager or Agency Partners.
- Recognize trends that may be occurring in the claim history.
