Job Summary
As the Laboratory Integration Manageryou will assist in providing strategic technical expertise looking toward future-oriented design and technological advances in testing and instrumentation. A key focus will be on identifying ways to increase Ascend’s innovation, competitive edge and qualities, while continually improving efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert recommendations and direction in further spearheading changes to daily operational aspects of a high throughput clinical laboratory; focus on continuous improvement and efficiency
- Make recommendations for new test development
- Evaluate new technical procedures and assure their accuracy and implementation
- Lead the planning, design and oversight of technical projects throughout the different departments of laboratory operations
- Coordinate with facilities and lab staff to modify lab work spaces as volume and/or instrumentation and/or testing needs change
- Establish a close partnership with Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Information Services, Sales and Marketing, as well as Client Services to efficiently develop resolutions and improve outcomes
- Identify, research and recommend needed changes in laboratory equipment to streamline and enhance laboratory and other departmental processes
- Improve inter-departmental communication through the development of change control documentation and process
- Perform data analysis of volumes, utilization, throughput, number of patients, test, instruments, etc. Assume coordination and overview of various Laboratory Projects
- Partner with Quality Assurance Team to continually review processes and implement improvements, as necessary
- Work with Lab, QA, Purchasing and Applications to develop new work bench applications, as well as assist with LIS upgrades
- Maintain lab records and prepare reports to inform management of departmental and lab initiatives. Other duties as assigned
- Analytical ability and knowledge of statistical measures
- Ability to work well with cross departmental staff
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Current valid California license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
- Experience conducting and documenting modifications to Clinical Laboratory Information System (LIS/LIMS) Software, preferably SOFT LIS and SOFT MIC applications
- $140,000-155,000
- Salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to individual competencies, education/professional certifications, experience and performance in the role
