About the Role:

Job Title: Senior Data Analyst

Overview:

We seek a Sr. Data Analyst/Visualization Specialist with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to join our team. The role focuses on leveraging data insights to enhance developer productivity, improve user engagement with internal tools like Co-Pilot, and build intuitive dashboards for data visualization. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous environments, works collaboratively, and has a strong foundation in SQL, data processing, and visualization tools like Tableau.

Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Insights:

• Work with ambiguous datasets to derive actionable insights into developer productivity and tool engagement.
• Analyze Co-Pilot user engagement metrics and identify patterns to enhance usage.

Dashboard Development:

• Build and maintain dashboards using Tableau to visualize key metrics and trends.
• Recommend and implement data-driven changes to improve dashboards for internal users.

Collaboration & Strategy:

• Collaborate with managers to carve out tasks for team members and ensure seamless execution.
• Provide recommendations on GitHub usage and Co-Pilot adoption strategies.

Data Management:

• Process and manage data from internal data lakes using tools like Databricks.
• Ensure data accuracy and availability for reporting and visualization purposes.

Knowledge Management:

• Reference and integrate insights from similar projects on knowledge management and IDE extensions.
• Support ongoing initiatives to improve internal extensions from a data perspective.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and querying.
• Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
• Experience with processing data in tools like Databricks.
• Experience/Exposure to developer tools like Co-Pilot and IDE-related projects.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to handle ambiguous data.
• Familiarity with GitHub and understanding of developer productivity metrics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

Locations: McLean, VA (Hybrid)

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $100K– $120K annually. Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
