Ascendo Resources is currently seeking a Port Dispatcher to join a cutting edge trucking, transportation, warehousing, and logistics company with locations in 48 states! As a company with a successful track record of servicing both domestic and international clients, you will be handling the port dispatching branch of the company and playing a part in the continued success in our Newark location.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Scheduling and dispatching drivers, work crews, vehicles, or equipment to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, customer requests or immediate needs
• Coordinate container moves in/out of Newark ports
• Coordinate moves between Warehouses, and customers
• Check drivers have the proper paperwork and credentials before dispatching
• Ensure that shipping data is entered into the system timely and accurately
• Maximize revenue per load, per day
• Communicate dispatch instructions and expectations to drivers
• Communicate driver issues to management and assist with resolutions
• Provide leadership, accountability, and support to assigned drivers
• Meet and exceed company established KPI’s monitoring performance
• Adhere to company, state, and federal DOT/OSHA/FMCSA requirements
• Provide customer support as needed, answering questions, and addressing needs
• Following drivers’ routes and making sure they are practicing safe habits

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-3 Years of experience as a truck dispatcher in a similar industry
• Exceptional ability to schedule drivers, plan routes, and dispatch drivers to customer locations
• Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and laws
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Dispatching (2 years required)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
