Job Summary:

Provide strategic project management, engineering, and technology integration oversight for existing and new projects, as either Prime or Subcontractor, that require expertise across a variety of requirements. This support includes management and oversight of technical and contractual requirements on multiple projects including Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) test, operations, and procedures support for Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic and Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity support for Army Cyber (ARCYBER) as well as other technical and mission support projects within the Maritime and System Engineering portfolio.

Position potential for remote.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple project(s) or program(s) in accordance with contract requirements and customer expectations as a Prime and/or Subcontractor.

  • Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; conducting audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; and implementing changes, as required.

  • Responsible for specific metrics on projects including, but not limited to, CPARS, CDRLS, Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), Employee Turnover, Gross Margin, and Safety.

  • Must be able to effectively manage personnel that are onsite as well as working remotely.

  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, tracking labor and expenses, monitoring ceiling and funding limits, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

  • Conducts staff meetings and briefings (including quarterly Program Management Reviews) and reports all program activities.

  • Ensures effective contract management is taking place by applying service delivery management best practices (e.g., PMI based practices).

  • Provides expertise and individual contribution toward organic growth on current and future projects.

  • Anticipates, identifies, and responds to all issues associated with contract execution and customer satisfaction in support of business operations.

  • Interface with and effectively and openly communicate with customers and subcontractors.

  • Represent the values and commitment of Akima to customers and teaming partners.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in project management within the federal contracting realm that requires managing multiple, simultaneous projects with competing priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet objectives driven by firm deliverable deadlines.

  • Knowledge of organizational planning, business process re-engineering, information management, and standard government acquisition processes

  • Demonstrated application and use of standard program/project management processes and tools to meet contract and financial objectives

  • Excellent time management, decision-making, presentation, human relations, and organization skills

  • Must be able to multitask, remain flexible, and be willing to adjust to evolving requirements

  • Excellent writing, editing, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong working knowledge of SharePoint data management, collaboration, and workflow processes

  • MS Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Project, Visio) experience

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable U.S. SECRET clearance

  • Office environment (sedentary)

  • Travel may be required up to 25%

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology. or other relevant degree
  • PMI Project Management Professional certification

  • Previous military operations experience

  • Extensive federal contracting experience

  • Costpoint/Cognos experience
