Job Description Summary
Develops, plans, and manages all aspects of Skilled Trades programming, including internal and external partner organizations, supervision of instruction and full-time staff, curricula learning outcomes, equipment procurement, compliance documentation and financial results. Accountable to multiple certification boards. Aligns initiatives to support the overall strategic goals of the
Economic and Workforce Development/Continuing Education Division. Supports the work of the Director and fills in as necessary in meetings with clients and/or partners.

Duties
  • Manages the class offerings, instructor scheduling, instructor payroll, student enrollment, and course needs within program area.
  • Develops partnerships with internal and external departments, employers, and community organizations to support and enhance programming.
  • Develops new programs to support business and economic needs.
  • Manages budgets and purchasing within program areas.
  • Manages department full-time and adjunct staffing needs. Hires new instructors as needed for program management. Supervises full-time staff/faculty within program area.
  • Ensures programming complies with College, NCCCS, and agency regulations.
  • Accurately manages recordkeeping processes for all programs to audit specifications and credentialing bodies.
  • Seeks out financial assistance opportunities and collaborates with internal funding organizations to maximize student benefit.
  • Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.
  • Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements (Applicant must meet all of the minimum requirements)
  • Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree;
  • Must have a minimum of two years of full-time or equivalent curriculum development and coordination of training delivery work experience;
  • Must have experience utilizing Microsoft 365 suite of products, database systems, training delivery platforms such as Moodle or Blackboard and current software applications such as Adobe Acrobat;
  • Must have at least two years of full-time or equivalent experience in a supervisory role;
  • Must have a minimum of two years of full-time or equivalent budget management experience;

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications or degrees in the skilled trades fields.
  • Experience working in the North Carolina Community College System.
  • Experience working with Colleague data management system.
  • Work experience in the skilled trades fields.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.

Your total compensation goes beyond this maximum salary. Your A-B Tech benefits represent nearly 30% of your total compensation.
