What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skilled Maintenance position at Ashtabula Regional Medical Center?
Performs a variety of basic maintenance, repair, installation, and preventative maintenance projects to assure the operating viability of the facility's building systems and equipment in order to support a pleasant, safe, and workable healthcare environment. Dependent upon skill levels, work performed may be in one of the following areas: Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, HVAC, or Mechanical.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

High school graduate, GED, or equivalent life experience. Must be able to read, write, and understand English at high school graduate level in order to process information within the department. Computer knowledge is essential to navigate through the Energy Management System. Must possess valid drivers license and meet ACMC insurability requirements.

Required Length and Type of Experience

Five years experience preferred in one of the following trades: Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, or HVAC. Knowledge of mechanical computer interface preferred.

Required Licensure or Certification

Dependent on operational needs, a 3rd Class Stationary Engineer's License may be required.

Required Physical and Environmental Demands

The physical demands of the job require the ability to repair equipment, inside and outside, in extreme weather conditions, lift and carry weights over 50 lbs., and work at heights in excess of 20 feet. Blood borne Pathogen Exposure Category II in which employees whose routine and/or daily duties, tasks or procedures occasionally exposure them to blood and other potentially infectious materials
