In This Position, You Will Have the Opportunity To
- Foundational multi-category understanding including technical product knowledge, internal sourcing processes, cost drivers, related industry dynamics and market trends.
- Participates in process development and coordination with cross-functional partners in support of supplier selection, associated contract negotiations, supplier performance and relationship management.
- Perform data analyses and utilize financial skills to support identification of opportunities to leverage scale and drive cost savings.
- Places purchase orders and expedites materials as required to support production schedules
- Understands and develops adequate inventory turns to meet organizational goals
- Supports contracting with regional direct and indirect suppliers
- Manages the Approved Supplier List
- Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with US laws
- Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management; Plus 7-10 years of Purchasing experience and 1-2 years of contracting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ERP software experience required, with in-depth knowledge of MRP strongly preferred
- Familiarity with total cost analysis concepts
- Excellent understanding of statistical concepts used to formulate safety stock quantities to meet customer service levels
- Experience with implementing and maintaining a Lean Material Flow manufacturing environment is a plus
- Able to demonstrate a track record of accomplishments in supply chain management
- Detailed and analytically oriented
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with ERP forecasting software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including, word, excel and Outlook
- Certification in APICS or ISM a plus
