Outreach Representative Level 1 

 

Summary: 

You are an energetic and enthusiastic professional that has the personality, character and tact required to effectively represent AspenRidge Recovery in the community. You have the skill set, knowledge, and accessibility required to build sustainable partnerships within and beyond the Colorado behavioral healthcare industry. Our outreach team places prospective patients, manages community partnerships, makes presentations, and produces and participates in community events. We are treatment placement specialists, organizational representatives to our community partners, and external resource guides to other AspenRidge departments. We consistently aim to position AspenRidge as an industry thought-leadersetting the standard for quality evidenced-based programming, ethical care, and patient outcomes.

Reports To: Outreach Supervisor  

 

Duties: 

  • Understand the professional, cultural and performance expectations of your role and of every member of our community.
  • Achieve and maintain an in-depth understanding of clinical programs, medical and other service offerings, locations including remote programs, availability in each location and costs including insurance contracts in each location and program. 
  • Achieve and maintain an in-depth understanding of your specific territory, the existing community referral partners in the territory, the potential/target referral partners and the organizations that may not be beneficial for us to partner with. Develop an in-depth grading scale of your market, plan regularly with the guidance of your supervisor, and commit at least 30 hours a week to developing reciprocal referral relationships within the community.
  • Understand the weighted admit system used at AspenRidge, your weighted targets, and make sure you are meeting those goals.
  • Complete and submit weekly KPI reports, and provide a narrative summary on the status of relationships, results of the week's efforts, key focus areas of opportunity, etc.
  • Meet KPI targets with the support of coworkers and leadership. You are not expected to meet your targets immediately, but rather build on them until you are able to consistently and sustainably meet your first-year goals by the 6-month mark. Your goals will increase and change annually based on performance, so be sure to track what those are!
  • Aid your teammates in achieving the Outreach team and MOAA’s overarching departmental goals.  Do not rely on Admissions to always convert your referrals; proactively contribute to and guide the process!
  • Collaborate within the department to develop and maintain a grading system for community partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to manage a patient-centered outbound referral process.
  • Work collaboratively with admissions, marketing and clinical teams on business development, strategic relationships, and outreach opportunities with community.
  • Identify, strategize, develop, and maintain new relationships with addiction and mental health providers, advocates, facilities, and organizations. Ensure relationships are mutually beneficial and that, where appropriate, they lead to mutual referral relationship.
  • Develop personal and professional relationships throughout the field and throughout individual facilities. Engage other AspenRidge staff in this process to deepen strategic partnerships with other organizations (e.g., introduce an AspenRidge clinical director with another facility’s clinical director). 
  • Identify opportunities, (e.g., speaking events, clinical tours, clinical meetings, conferences, etc., for AspenRidge to position itself as a thought leader and subject matter expert in the market).
  • Manage and report on a forward calendar of scheduled meetings and events with community partners and team members. Also, maintain up-to-date contact information, referral numbers (in/out), competitive data, meeting notes, and relationship status in the CRM on a daily to weekly basis
  • Prepare staff ahead of tours on company grounds.

 

Requirements:

  • Knowledgeable about the recovery community and the needs of recovering persons is strongly preferred
  • Excellent professional, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Personal experience in, and knowledge of the industry of Addiction Treatment is preferred
  • Experience and/or education in the behavioral health and mental health disciplines is a plus
  • Must have proficient computer skills and experienced knowledge of Microsoft Office with ability to adapt to new technologies
  • Working knowledge of Call Tracking Metrics and KIPU CRM is a plus
  • Have a valid driver’s license and personal transportation
  • Willing to work remotely and at the AspenRidge Lakewood office as needed.

Outreach Representative (L1): 

  • Experience Requirements:
    • 1 year working in Addiction Treatment Outreach, or 2 years working in the Addiction Treatment industry. 
    • Education requirement: High School Diploma (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
    • Has a firm grasp on the core concepts of the disease of addiction, addiction treatment, ASAM levels of care, the relationship between addiction and mental health conditions and the treatment thereof, has a working knowledge of core recovery concepts and various recovery pathways. 
  • Performance Requirements: *
    • Monthly Metrics:
      • Confirmed Inbound Referrals: 15
      • Converted Intakes (raw): 11
      • Converted Intakes (Weighted)5.00**
    • Teamwork and Representation:
      • Is achievement orientedseeks to take initiative, is resourceful in creating ways to complete the task at hand.
      • Is an active and present listener. Displays strong and clear communication skills with all teammates.
      • Consistently puts the team first, prioritizing the department’s mission and their role within it. Pushes back in a professional manner when in disagreement with a plan or strategy. 
      • Punctual with meetings and project timelines.

*The metrics above must start to be consistently achieved by the end of the employee’s initial 3 months on the job and sustained each month thereafter in order to meet the requirements of this “Level”. Performance beyond these metrics is considered grounds for promotion, when paired with other performance standards and requirements.

Compensation: 

  • Salary: $55000-$70,000
