As the Grading Operating Foreman, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment and overseeing the grading crew to ensure efficient preparation of subgrade surfaces for asphalt and concrete installation. You will be accountable for ensuring the crew meets project specifications, adheres to safety standards, and maintains quality and production timelines. This role requires hands-on leadership, technical expertise in grading, and the ability to manage day-to-day crew activities on-site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely operate a variety of heavy machinery, including but not limited to graders, bulldozers, excavators, and skid steers, to prepare surfaces for asphalt and concrete installation.
Supervise Grading Crew: Lead and manage the grading crew, providing clear direction, delegation, and guidance to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.
Plan and Coordinate Activities: Work closely with project managers and other crews (paving, concrete, milling) to plan daily activities, allocate resources, and address any site challenges.
Quality Control: Ensure all grading work is performed according to company standards, project specifications, and within tolerances required for asphalt and concrete surfaces.
Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a culture of safety, ensuring all team members follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Perform safety audits and toolbox talks as needed.
Site Inspection: Conduct site inspections to assess the subgrade condition, moisture levels, and compaction prior to asphalt or concrete installation. Communicate any issues or changes to the project manager.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all grading equipment is properly maintained, perform basic troubleshooting, and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs and servicing as needed.
Project Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, labor, materials used, and site conditions. Provide daily reports to the project manager.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience operating grading equipment and other heavy equipment
Possession of a valid driver's license.
Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
Skilled in reading site plans.
Strong supervisory skills and ability to make decisions on-site.
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to work outdoors and lift equipment components.
