Description

Asphalt Green is looking to hire an experienced pickleball instructor to introduce the fastest growing sport in the nation to our community. Through program classes, private lessons, and potentially, leagues, this instructor will develop a brand-new offering at Asphalt Green Battery Park City. The schedule is expected to be WEEKDAY mornings. There is no flexibility on the scheduling at this time.

Develop and implement pickleball curriculum for adults and children (all skill levels) for terms that are expected to run between 8 to 15 weeks.

Establish equipment needs working with our Purchasing function to order as appropriate for group sessions (4-6 players). Maintain space and equipment.

Track program participants and class attendance.

Ensure adherence to AG safety policies and procedures

Compensation

$18.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on experience

Qualifications

Note: This position requires proof of full COVID vaccination status.

• Experience coaching and playing pickleball required along with a minimum of 3 years experience teaching/coaching racquet sports programming
• Desire to share knowledge of pickleball rules and strategy
• Strong communication skills along with an ability to collaboratively with staff and class participants
