Asphalt Green is looking to hire a Program Coordinator who will be situated at the Major Owens Community Center (MOCC). The site, which is operated by Asphalt Green, is located in Brooklyn's vibrant Crown Heights neighborhood. The Center serves as a cornerstone for community engagement, creativity, and growth. The center offers a variety of programs, from dance classes to cultural events, bringing people together in a dynamic and welcoming environment.
The Program Coordinator is employed by Asphalt Green and reports to the Asphalt Green Program Manager. The role supports program planning and implementation while ensuring a high-quality experience for participants of all ages and abilities. Offerings include recreational and competitive sports classes and leagues, fitness group exercise programs and summer camps. This role also involves collaboration with center partners to coordinate efforts preventing scheduling conflicts or issues.
NOTE: This is an onsite role with limited options for remote work
Responsibilities
- Support program development and implementation for recreational classes and leagues, competitive sports teams, fitness group exercise programs and summer camps.
- Support efforts to expand site offerings and outreach, develop and maintain strong relationships with local schools, community organizations, and program partners.
- Oversee program registration ensuring that family and participant experience runs smoothly and efficiently.
Provide feedback on current programs and potential adjustments that can improve offerings.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 – 2 years of experience in program management, athletics, recreation, sports administration, or a related field.
- Strong computer skills. Knowledge of Salesforce a plus.
- Proven track record of success supporting sports, fitness, and/or camp programs.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Salary : $40,000 - $45,000
