Loader Operator

Description

• Asphalt Paving & Materials Company is a heavy highway paving contractor that operates in South Dakota. We are looking for motivated individuals that would like to help in our asphalt operations. We operate our plant historically out of Huron, and De Smet South Dakota.

Payment Structure

• $26.07 per Hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Show up to work on time and sober.
• Responsible for the working conditions of the loaders. This includes performing routine maintenance including greasing, minor servicing, maintenance, and cleaning of the loader.
• Understand what you are stockpiling and the proper stockpiling procedure.
• Work with the plant superintendent and operator to help with the day-to-day plant operation.
• Maintain hopper levels to achieve maximum production.
• Maintain stockpiles and pit floor.
• Demonstrate the ability to operate the loader, excellent safety awareness, and a willingness to comply with company policies and safety standards.
• Effective communication with other operators, truck drivers, and the general public.
• Fix problem areas within the pit, such as clay spots, low spots, or rough roads.
• Fuel your loader at the end of each day and document this on your time ticket.
• Be mindful of wear parts on your machine and notify your supervisor of when they need to be serviced.
• Load trucks, and keep track of who, what, and how much you loaded each day. Turn this information in with your time ticket, it is a very important part of our operation.
• Communicate with drivers on where you want their loads dumped and modify them throughout the day.
• Keep your loader clean, organized, and free of garbage inside the cab.
• Help with additional work around the plant as needed.

Requirements

• Previous loader work preferred but not required.
