Description
Asphalt Paving & Materials Company is a heavy highway paving contractor that operates in South Dakota. We are looking for motivated individuals that would like to help in our asphalt operations. We operate our laydown operation historically around Huron, and De Smet South Dakota.
Payment Structure
26.07 Per Hour

Roles & Responsibilities
Use your roller to create an asphalt surface that is structurally sound as well as smooth.
Maintain your machine and report any malfunctions to your supervisor.
Show up to work on time, and sober.
Keep track of where you worked during the day, what you did, as well as any fuel that you used, and document that on your time ticket.
Check your machines oil, and hydraulic fluid levels daily.
Grease your machine to maintain well lubricated moving parts.
Monitor your fuel and water level to ensure that you do not run out of either.
Must have the initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist with other job positions for job completion as requested.
Communicate with paving crew on any flaws in material or finished mat.
Understand proper techniques for rolling transverse joints.
Recognize flow lines and inverts.
Try to minimize roller marks.
Make frequency and amplitude adjustments depending on mix design, material thickness, temperature zone, and density.
Have a thorough understanding of material thickness, type of material being laid, and material temperature for determining rolling range.
Works with paving crew with hand rolling, wacker work, manholes and catch basins.
Help trim edge lines and pickup excess asphalt material.
Requirements
Previous rolling experience preferred but not required.
