What We Are Looking For:

The Software Developer will provide application designs and solutions while partnering with technical teams to define system architecture, configuration, and development. The Application Services team provides support for Admin platforms and configurable systems, secure data transport, customer service software, customer communication management service and bank channel- clearing and settlement services. A successful candidate will be a design architecture contributor, excellent communicator, and a team player. This person works closely with the business users, product owner, development team, testing team as well as deployment team providing design solutions on Aspida products by analyzing and recommending best practices. The Software Developer is responsible for application design, development, review, and implementation of business requirements for workflow management tool, secure data transport application, customer service software, and bank channel- clearing and settlement services . This role reports to the Application Development Manager and is required to be onsite 3 days a week at our Durham, NC office.

What You Will Do:

• Analyze insurance system components, recommend modernization strategies, and implement improvements.
• Conduct requirement analysis for annuity product changes, and design and develop insurance products for Aspida.
• Collaborate with the application vendor to identify required changes and document/design the implementation plan.
• Analyze data feeds, diagnose the root cause of issues, and resolve problems related to application data.
• Work closely with application developers and product owners across teams to implement product solutions.
• Serve as the expert and primary point of contact for production issues impacting your system(s).
• Perform defect analysis and propose system enhancements.
• Maintain high-quality documentation.
• Collaborate with the change control team to deploy changes.

What We Require:

• Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in computer information systems and technologies
• 4 years of progressive experience in system analysis, and database and application development, including web services.
• Preferred 2 years of experience with an insurance administrative platform, including experience with DTCC-related platforms.
• Strong verbal and written communications.
• Strong interpersonal relations, management, and supervisory skills.
• Strong background in the support of applications used in the insurance domain.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and manage concurrent and conflicting priorities and deadlines.
• Organize, prioritize, and track tasks, requests, and projects effectively.
