Under the supervision of a HR Representative or other designee of the VP of HR and Compliance, the Recruiting and HR Technician assists with recruiting marketing efforts, drug screen sample collection, data entry and various other tasks in support of the efforts by the Recruiting, Compliance and HR Teams to promote employment opportunities within the ASRC family of companies, complete new hire pre-employment screening and onboarding and provide support to the ASRC related business operations in the North Slope on various recruiting, compliance and human resources projects.  This position is in-person primarily working from the company’s Utqiagvik offices.  Some travel may occasionally be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)

  1. Performs manual and digital filing to insure timely and accurate record keeping. Pulls records and routes paperwork as appropriate.
  2. Performs data entry to assist with Recruiting, Compliance and HR shared services.
  3. HR mail processing duties to include inner-building and external deliveries, preparing packages for shipping, accurate labeling and tracking of mail and coordination with various departments.
  4. Maintains cleanliness and organization of all storage and administrative areas for Compliance and HR.
  5. Works with Records/Legal Department to facilitate appropriate archiving and disposal of records.
  6. Schedules appointments for and assists with sample collection related to drug testing program and processes and completes paperwork related to same.
  7. Assists with certain other administrative tasks related to recruiting, pre-employment screening and onboarding of new hires.
  8. Works independently as well as with team members in the same office as well as other offices and departments and provides administrative support to management team within HR Department upon request.
  9. Ensures confidentiality of employee and company information to comply with applicable laws.
  10. Reliability and timeliness, including compliance with attendance policy, is critical.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. High school diploma or GED certificate.
  2. Experience working with highly confidential materials.
  3. Working knowledge of MS Office products (including Excel), DocuSign, and similar programs and data management systems and/or willingness and ability to become proficient in same.
  4. Experience performing administrative related duties required, compliance experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as company policies, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS/REASONING ABILITY

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms; and to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.   Specific vision abilities required by this job includes the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

The work environment is in an office setting.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, including visiting non-office environment worksites and may be required to travel in small and large commercial aircraft or by vehicle for long periods of time and take overnight and/or multi-day trips.
