Commercial Construction Estimator

Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:
· Performs routine duties independently, using sound judgment, thoroughness, and competence.
· Prepare quantity take-offs, analysis, estimates, and studies for all Electrical items incorporated in the scope from conceptual design through completed construction documents. Preliminary design work may be required to complete conceptual estimates.
· Daily use of OST
· Analyze existing site conditions and all contract documents (plans, specifications, etc.) to determine the required scope that is not already indicated.
· Develop working relationships with local material suppliers and equipment vendors to solicit accurate and current pricing of electrical material packages and miscellaneous materials.
· Perform constructability analysis of project documents. Communicate design and constructability issues to the project team per the project contract.
· Ensure general conditions and general requirements items are adequately addressed in the estimate.
· Prepare estimates and proposals for all contract types including lump sum, GMP, Cost Plus, etc.
· Participate in estimate reviews with the Pm and Operations Teams
· Lead project hand-off to Project Managers to ensure proper transfer of knowledge from estimate to preconstruction.
· Lead the evaluation of vendor and subcontractor proposals relative to their scope of work. Determine scope coverage and manage risk of scope gaps.
· Assist project staff in evaluating large change orders.
· Must perform other duties as assigned.
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work under pressure.
· Ability to handle multiple interruptions and adjustments to priorities throughout the day.
· Ability to handle situations efficiently and calmly and/or complaints that range from routine to emergency.
· Excellent memory and organizational ability necessary to organize daily workload handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.

· Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skill
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
· BS in Construction, Engineering, Architecture or related field/ Or 10 years of Commercial Drywall Construction experience
· Understanding of Metal Stud framing Installation
· Understanding of Acoustical Ceiling Systems
· Understanding of Drywall Installation
· Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, Pro Core, and OST Takeoff Software

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
