In this pivotal role, you'll oversee all aspects of overnight inbound operations across departments, providing exceptional leadership, training, and motivation to Distribution Supervisors and employees. Your efforts will drive operational excellence and ensure alignment with corporate Quality of Service (QOS) standards and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage the operation to achieve the desired P&L results.
- Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are aligned with corporate and department objectives.
- Support and enforce company policies, procedures, union contract and government regulations.
- Recruit, train, coach and mentor personnel and Supervision to be high-performing in their efforts and results.
- Conduct and evaluate employee evaluations, using this process as a springboard for achieving continuous improvement through assigned personnel.
- Develop strategic plans for operational improvement: for example; seasonal volume, slotting efficiencies, procurement practices, and related matters impacting all Inbound efforts.
- Ensure the warehouse management system is utilized to maximize efficiency of inbound operations.
- Manage the use of Managed Receiving for effectiveness.
- Oversee the management and relationships between AG and partners including Capstone, common carriers, and vendor partners.
- Communicate performance results from operational reports-and partner with Procurement to improve procurement efficiencies and practices.
- Ensure that all Slotting plans/requirements/changes are executed timely and accurately.
- Ensure all time and attendance reporting and other DC applications are maintained accurately on a timely basis.
- Participate in re-evaluating disciplinary programs and practices to improve effectiveness and impact on employee morale.
- Participate in re-evaluating performance metrics/productivity standards to impact organizational success.
- Ensure all inbound merchandise is within defined quality standards.
- Ensure all inbound employees are complying with safety and sanitation rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Administer appropriate discipline as needed.
- Ensure the warehouse is prepared for shipping operations-capitalizing particularly upon opportunities to execute letdowns in anticipation of shipping needs.
- Make certain warehouse is clean and equipment is ready for the receiving operation.
- Ensure Tobacco department complies with company and state requirements.
- Conduct, review, and finalize post-accident investigation reports prior to submitting to Risk Management.
- Ensure monthly safety meetings are conducted and documented.
- Coordinate timely discussions with Inventory Control, Transportation, Slotting, Recoup, Logistics & Supply Chain, and Customer Service departments to prevent operational inefficiencies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises Inbound Assistant Manager and Distribution Supervisors. Indirectly supervises all employees on the inbound shift. Perform shipping/receiving supervisor responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, License, Registrations:
- Valid Louisiana driver’s license preferred.
