The Bereavement Coordinator/Chaplain plans and maintains the bereavement program while providing spiritual services to our residents and their loved ones.

The Bereavement Coordinator/Chaplain plans and maintains the bereavement program while providing spiritual services to our residents and their loved ones.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent theological degree from college or university or master's in social work.
- Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology.
- Experience with families/caregivers and patients through death/dying issues.
- Coordinates the assessment and delivery of grief counseling needs and services (one-to-one, groups, and ongoing follow-up) to ensure timely and appropriate services are provided to family/caregivers.
- Assures and provides spiritual assessments and care to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Facilitates the development of the individualized care plan.
- Maintains records of spiritual care services provided.
- Plans for Bereavement Program development, expansion, and refinement through annual evaluation of services.
- Provides bereavement support to hospice personnel coping with work-related grief through one-to-one counseling, supervision of interns providing one-to-one counseling, and referral to community resources.
- Provides bereavement information and referral services to callers from the community. Expands and maintains community resource list as needed.
- Candidate must have a reliable and insured vehicle and be willing to commute.
- Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
- Comfort in an interfaith setting.
- Understanding of grief response and experience.
