At Guy F. Atkinson Construction (Atkinson Construction) many of our most valued employees work in the field and are members of various labor unions.
As a union contractor, we work on a referral process from the local union halls for the hiring of all craft workers.
- Cement Mason (Apprentice, Journeyman, Foreman, and General Foreman) responsibilities include, but not limited to : chipping;
- setting screeds, which includes screed pins; cutting, scoring and sawing new concrete; plugging, filling Shee-Bolt holes;
- dry packing concrete and EMBECO; tending material hose of slabs, floors and decks, tending mixer-truck chute on slabs, floors, and decks;
bush hammering; patching and sacking; rodding, tamping, bid well and similar types of rodding machines, bull floating; and all Cement Masons work associated with Concrete Polishing and Pervious Concrete.
Additionally, the Cement Mason Foreman will supervise, coordinate and schedule a crew of three (3) or more Cement Masons.
