Who We Are:
The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

About the Role:
The Repack Temporary Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the Food Bank’s repack programs for protein and produce. This position could potentially work in refrigerated areas to oversee the repackaging of temperature-controlled (TCS) products, including raw and finished goods. Attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and coordination with internal teams are essential to ensure timely processing and distribution of quality products. This role will also support the broader operations of the Repack Centers by maintaining sanitation and compliance standards.
What You’ll Do:
Essential Functions:
Repack and label goods, maintain sanitation, execute daily SSOPs and or pack help guide/support other Re-Packaging Center staff in daily functions.
Help work and assist volunteers throughout their shifts.
Ensure the smooth, efficient, and sanitary operation (SSOP’s) of the repackaging program, including receiving product, inventory control, training, and quality control.
Follow the daily production schedule in repackaging temperature-controlled products. This will involve staff being led to pack boxes, picking products to be packed, recording finished cases, trash, doing constant quality checks, and assisting in the receiving and shipping of products as needed.
Follow cleaning and sanitation SSOP’s of PCR room and equipment. Monitoring production process, verification, and documentation as needed.
Prepare products for distribution (including wrapping pallets and labeling orders, weight), following labeling laws.
Follow the compliance and adherence to all food safety guidelines according to ACFB, Feeding America, AIB, USDA, & GADoA and any SSOP’s or other applicable processes or regulations for safe and sanitary production and storage of all products.
All other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need: Skills and Experience your resume should demonstrate:
Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and best practices in workplace safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe material handling techniques.
Ability to pick, pack, and stage orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring on-time delivery and quality control of products.
Demonstrated teamwork skills, working effectively with warehouse colleagues, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals and priorities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tasks such as labeling and organizing inventory to maintain order and efficiency in the warehouse.
Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, to follow instructions, report issues, and collaborate with team members and supervisors.
Even Better if You Have:
Extremely proficient in operating sit-down forklifts, including safe handling, loading/unloading, and maneuvering of materials and inventory.
Knowledgeable with RF Scanners.
Food Safety Experience is preferred (or ability to be certified)
ServSafe/HACCP is preferred (or ability to be certified)
Previous experience in food production or food handling is desired.
Knowledge and experience in handling food safely is preferred.
